MED International Inc ("MED International", "we", "us") is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 45-2994844, based at 1660 International Dr., Suite 600, McLean, VA 22102, USA.

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or make a donation, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information you give us

When you donate or contact us, we collect:

  • your name, email address and postal address

  • your phone number, if you provide one

  • the amount and date of your donation

  • any message you send us

Payment details are handled by our payment processors, not by us. Card numbers and bank details go directly to Squarespace Commerce and Stripe, who process payments on our behalf. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect:

  • your IP address, browser type, device type and operating system

  • the pages you visit, the time you spend on them and the site you arrived from

  • information collected through cookies and similar technologies

Advertising and analytics

We use the following tools, which set cookies and may collect information about your visit:

  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — measures the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and allows us to show ads to people who have visited our site. Meta may use this information in accordance with its own Data Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

  • Squarespace — hosts our website and provides visitor analytics.

You can control this:

  • Manage how Meta uses your information at facebook.com/adpreferences

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • process your donation and send you a receipt

  • provide the acknowledgment you need for tax purposes

  • respond to your questions

  • send you updates about our work, if you have asked to receive them

  • understand how our website and advertising are performing

  • meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who act on our behalf — our website host, payment processors, email provider and advertising platforms — and only as needed to perform those services

  • Authorities, where the law requires it

We do not share donor contact details with the organizations we fund.

Your choices and rights

  • Email: every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you.

  • Access, correction and deletion: you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email MedGiving@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

  • Residents of California and other states with privacy laws: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information.

Some information must be kept regardless of a deletion request — donation records, for example, which we are required to retain for tax and accounting purposes.

How long we keep information

We keep donation records for as long as required by law, generally seven years. Other information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, and our payment processors are PCI-DSS compliant. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" line above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
